Sleepy Giant runs persistent online games and communities of all sizes. We specialize in working with game studios to get their games to market, through a blend of strategic planning, smart design, cutting edge technologies, rock solid operations and real-time marketing.
Our team takes an analytic approach to games to match and support our creative counterparts at development studios. Partners we work with include Activision, Disney, Atari and THQ.
The Role:
As Director of Managed Cloud Services your role is integral to our success. The core of how we succeed is through developing white-label web services for game studios, which we build on the Joyent cloud.
As our Managed Cloud Services Director, you'll have a key role in refining this process, and have the opportunity to explore new technologies (like Chef) to build out more efficient virtualized development environments.
You'll lead our 5-person systems engineering team and will help us devise best practices for build and release not only for our Chicago office, but for our whole company.

Our Ideal Candidate:
* Has configured and deployed source code with Chef, Puppet or Capistrano to scalable cloud systems.
* Has managed a large 24x7 web application using RedHat or other Linux architecture.
* Has led and managed scaling of a systems and development operations team working with a 100% SLA.
Bonus points:
* Experience coding with Ruby, Python, or Perl.
* Has used NoSQL databases including Redis or MongoDB to manage large sets of application data.
