Sarah Wiemero: Sr. Candidate Manager
Sarah joins the The Sourcery in the name of learning, meeting new people and talking a lot. After completing a master's degree in intercultural studies with an emphasis on ethnographic research and qualitative inquiry, she made her way to the Middle East. Sarah returned to San Francisco and put her interviewing skills to work in the industry that runs this town: tech. She worked for a while doing technical recruiting in big data, and was excited to see The Sourcery doing things differently, so she hopped on board! Originally from Wisconsin, you can find Sarah running along the Embarcadero in her Green Bay Packers tshirt or reading a real, live book at Four Barrel Coffee.
Katy Shirokov: Sr. Technical Sourcer
Janelle Collette: Candidate Manager
Janelle joins The Sourcery one year after her “leap of faith” move to the Bay Area from Colorado. With a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Social Work, she set out to make an impact on this world we live in. She became interested in the tech startup community in particular, and The Sourcey offers Janelle the perfect opportunity to help growing and emerging tech companies find the perfect match for their needs! With a strong background in research and a keen eye for talent, she strives and challenges herself not only to help find the right candidates for the job, but also to maintain continuing professional relationships with candidates to help them find their dream job. When she’s not recruiting, you can find her cuddling up with a great book, trying new recipes, or playing with her puppy Quinn.
Lara Avisov: Candidate Manager
Lara joined The Sourcery to pursue her love for meeting people, being a natural born matchmaker and talking to interesting people. Her experience at Apple, where she worked for iTunes Operations and at the Apple Store as a Genius, has given her the opportunity to fall in love with her nerdy/goofy personality. She has a passion for people, understanding cultures, traveling, the social sciences, the tech industry, and having a positive outlook on life! When she's not at The Sourcery, she plays ice hockey and basketball, rides her bike, goes on spontaneous adventures, films documentaries, and goes on photo shoots. She loves the startup culture and swears that she will be in school forever, because of her perpetual interest in continued learning. She considers herself a crazy one because: "the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do" (Steve Jobs).
Robert Sharp: Account Manager
Robert comes to The Sourcery with over 13 years of combined experience in executive search and account management, with that time split between the hustle and bustle of capital markets recruiting in New York City and Enterprise Software Sales/Account Management in Silicon Valley. Just prior to joining The Sourcery, Robert covered the Northeast United States and Eastern Canada for the Emerging Products/Applications Group at VMware. Prior to VMware, he held roles with Finex-Agency, Strategic Workforce Solutions, and The Searchlight Group in New York, and Robert Half International in Michigan.
Robert is a washed-up former athlete who still dreams that he has a chance to be a punter in the NFL, but he doesn't... he's never punted before. When he's not dreaming about the bright lights and glory of sports stardom, Robert is taking on-line classes in Photoshop, reading about medieval history, or perfecting his culinary skills.
Molly Chambers: Technical Sourcer
Molly came to California from sweet home Alabama, dragging with her a Public Relations degree and three suitcases of books. She kicked the accent, but prefers her tea sweetened and her whiskey straight. A treasure hunter by nature, she found her home at The Sourcery and is always in search of passionate tech folk. When she's not perusing TechCrunch, you can find her scribbling poems on napkins, book covers, bathroom walls--never on the clock, though, don't worry. Currently, she's fighting her way through Rails for Zombies to feed her new-found love of tech...and brains.
Jessica Hults: Technical Sourcer
Jessica comes to The Sourcery as a home-grown Colorado girl. (No, she has never been skiing or snowboarding, but it's on her bucket list!) She relocated to San Francisco to follow a career path as a technical recruiter. She developed a love for people and a need to help her fellow man early on, which led to earning her bachelors in Psychology from The University of Colorado, Boulder. She has a passion for technology, and a natural drive to make a meaningful sourcing match for our clients and candidates! When she’s not trying to find a place in this crazy world, you can find her wearing Gold and glitter cheering on the CU Buffs, going on new adventures with the love of her life and best friend (also her dog) Niko, or bragging about being the reigning Champion of her fantasy football league.
Jacquie McCarley: Sr. Candidate Manager
Jacquie joins our team with a background in theater and a "fast track career" in food service, but since the job post for The Sourcery made her laugh and seemed like a good fit between her people skills and her immersion & submersion in geek culture, she decided to see if the shoe fit. It did and she's wearing it with gusto - she's already supported the hires of everything from tech support roles to Lead Software Engineers. She keeps herself busy in the tech community by counting among her friends a man who literally helped build the internet (he even has a plaque) and an engineer who helped design the routers that make all this possible.
When not playing developer-employer matchmaker Jacquie can be found performing onstage in Cabaret shows or with one of her many side projects — at this point she’s got so many sides she’s a dodecahedron.
Annette Erdozaincy: Candidate Manager
Annette came from a background in marketing, sales, and communications. Before joining The Sourcery, she worked at AvePoint selling governance solutions for Microsoft SharePoint. She decided to move to the city and became an Enterprise Business Representative at Yammer, where she helped enterprise organizations build a social foundation. After living in San Francisco for just a few months, she discovered her interest in the startup community. The Sourcery was the perfect opportunity to work directly with some of the most innovative startups in the area and help them grow, so she joined the team! Annette loves animals and volunteers at Pets Unlimited on the weekends walking and socializing the dogs. She also enjoys doing pilates and trying out new restaurants in the city.
Angelina Calderon: Lead Recruiter and Technical Officer
Angelina joins The Sourcery with a background in business management, organizational consulting and music education, in which she holds a Masters degree from New England Conservatory. She has made many happy employment matches in design, software development, and more. She is also an active member of the Ruby on Rails community, and volunteers regularly at Railsbridge. Angelina sings soprano in the SF Symphony, and you can find her music at http://angelinacalderon.com.
Shannon Cutting: Operations Manager
Shannon graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and came to The Sourcery after working and volunteering in the non-profit sector. She keeps our San Francisco office running smoothly. She makes sure that scheduling and logistics are handled for hundreds of interviews across all of the companies we work with. She also organizes and leads our own internal hiring process. She keeps our office organized and efficient and has supported many successful hires at The Sourcery.
When she's not at The Sourcery, Shannon can be found waking up early to beat the lines at popular brunch spots in the city, cheering for Cal football and being snarky.
Annie Hutton: Recruiting Trainer and Manager
Annie came to The Sourcery to follow her love for building teams. She began her recruiting career in Financial Services at Northwestern Mutual, where she built a successful new satellite office with a Managing Director. Since her move to the Bay Area, she has moved into tech recruiting, and has worked as a Lead Recruiter with companies like Google and Box, Inc., helping Hiring Managers to expand their teams. Annie once bungee jumped, sky dived and white water rafted down the Zambezi river all in one week, but when people ask if she does this kind of activity regularly, she admits that it was a one-time experience. Since then, she has toned down her act and her regular activities include fishing, golf and tennis.
Ryan Walker: Recruiting Coordinator
Ryan joins The Sourcery with a background in international economics and French. After several years organizing and improving things in the financial services industry, he made the jump to tech by way of recruiting. Innovation and the economic driving power of the tech industry are what inspire Ryan to pave his career in this perpetually evolving industry. When not maintaining the gates of The Sourcery as our admin and scheduling extraordinaire, combing through tech articles, and fine-tuning his tweeting skills, he occupies his time with one of his varying interests: aviation, French, skiing, or cooking.
Jessica Stielau: Founder
Jessica began her recruiting career after relocating to San Francisco from Seattle. With a background in climate and fisheries science, she applied her scripting skills as a freelance web developer. Soon recruiting caught her eye as an industry in need of a makeover, and The Sourcery was born. Since then she's continued to dedicate her time to improving recruiting for companies and candidates.
When she's not re-engineering recruiting, Jessica works as an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and loves all things snow, steep and outside.
She keeps all of The Sourcery going.
